Contra is a classic Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) game that was loved by so many. Besides the fun time, the ammo, and the gameplay, there was the code you can input to get many free lives. Google has implemented this popular code within its Google Reader, so as you enter it, you hatch its Easter Egg.

For those who do not remember the code, shame on you, but here it is anyways: “Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A” (leave out the “start”). If this is entered at your Google Reader’s home, you receive a little surprise.

If you do not use Google Reader or would rather know the ending without the short journey, you can see the result created by Crunchgear at this screenshot.
