I love seeing comments putting steampunk designs down . The notion that something is “ugly and stupid” or a “waste of material” just because it doesn’t match your special super-duper must-be-right-because-its-what-I-think-is-good asthetic speaks loads about a person’s limited mental capasity.

This isn’t saying people making these comments are a “waste of time” or “ugly and stupid” for it… but there are ways to add value with a critisism on art objects that don’t agree with one’s personal view of what is asthetically pleasing.

Low-browed troll-like statements in comments don’t add value to anything. Especially relating to art.
