About the Segway wheelchair. I do not think that it is a good idea to have the sickly and elderly sit on a two-wheeled self-balancing contraption. For safety's sake, minimum requirement should be 4 wheels (powered or non-powered). The Segway balances itself by moving in the direction of the tilt impressed by the rider. What if a sickly or elderly loses consciousness even temporarily and leans heavily, wouldn't the Segway roll towards that direction? What if the direction is towards the stairway? Gyroscopic controls may be good. But it should not be abused and be the central feature for a wheel chair.

The Segway is so cool it is also a great Green alternative form of travel. Green is the thing that is going to save our planet. Segways are also fun to drive, or ride on, or what ever you call it while your moving on them.
