New PS3 3.30 Firmware Update Available and Adds 3D Support

While it hasn’t been long since the controversial PS3 3.21 Update, which took away the ‘other OS’, the newest PS3 3.30 Firmware Update has a little more to offer and may get some gamers a little excited with the hint of 3D experience.

It isn’t a new thing that Sony is working and announced 3D gaming for the future of the PS3, and this new update is getting the consoles ready for just that. As announced in the Playstation Blog, the 3.30 Firmware will get the console prepared for ‘3D stereoscopic gaming’, right before the release of the upcoming 3D Bravia Televisions.

The above 3D PS3 news are pretty exciting for gamers that have been anticipating 3D gaming experience coming to their homes, but if you do not see yourself upgrading to a 3D Television anytime soon, this newest 3.30 update also adds better Trophy sorting:

– Trophies are easier to be sorted for both collection and comparison areas. This will make it easier to brag on your achievements:

Trophy Folder (Title List) can be sorted by game name/ by title according to the date in which you earned your last trophy (ascending/descending)
Add-on list (Group list) can be sorted by original/the date in which you earned your last trophy (ascending/descending)
Trophy list can be sorted by original/trophy name/grade/date of obtaining the trophy (ascending/descending)

The Trophy part of the 3.30 Firmware update may not be as exciting as 3D gaming coming, but it is better than nothing.

In case you are wondering, Playstation has mentioned that this is a mandatory update as the previous one was, so if you want to continue in the PSN as before, you can find the new PS3 Firmware Update 3.30 at the Playstation Official Site.

This was just recently announced, so if it still shows 3.21, please be patient.
