Nokia is all set to launch five new handsets and life tools especially for Indonesia, which are tailor made for users that are living in small towns and rural areas.

The five new handsets that company is going to launch are Nokia 1280, Nokia 1616, Nokia 1800, Nokia 2690 and Nokia 2220. Feature wise, Nokia 1280, Nokia 1616 and Nokia 1800 handsets come with dust-resistant keymat, FM radio, anti-scratch cover and prepaid tracker. For people living in small towns where electricity is quite a factor, these handsets will provide you with longer battery life with 22 days of standby time.

Talking about Nokia 2220 and the Nokia 2690 handsets, you can get email service via Ovi Mail. In terms of features, these handsets offer you Bluetooth, MMS, GPRS, FM radio and VGA camera. The phonebook of these handsets allows storage of more than 1,000 contacts.

The price of Nokia 1280, Nokia 1616 and Nokia 1800 are EUR 20, EUR 24 and EUR 26 respectively. The Nokia 2220 handset is priced at EUR 45 while the Nokia 2690 at EUR 54. All of these five handsets are expected to hit the market next year.

Leaf Phone Concept Redefines Practicality

It seems Microsoft is really spreading their wings and are currently working on some new Smartphones named Pink Project showing Turtle and Pure images in hopes to gain some of the younger market.

While the whole world says how Microsoft is on Apple’s tail, it seems Microsoft is catching up. We saw another example with yesterday’s news of the Microsoft Courier Tablet PC and now these new Microsoft Smartphones Turtle and Pure.

We have seen some fan Microsoft cellphone concepts before with the Microsoft Zune Phone and also the demeaning Microsoft Zunephone parody, but Turtle and Pure are a little more credible to what we should be expecting.

Working with Sharp, Microsoft seems to be going for a Sidekick kind of branding. Moreover, these two Pink Phones may be working right along with Zune to have such services available immediately with the phone for both music and applications.

Motorola CLIQ Google Android Smartphone Announced and it Looks Really Promising

You probably all remember the hype about the Palm Pre and its release, but now there is the cute Palm Pixi which is similar to the Palm Pre but smaller, cuter, and some changes to specs and looks.

The main attraction of the Palm Pixie, besides the cute and miniature design, is the built-in keyboard that is right in the front. This same keyboard does not have to worry about the slide-in mechanism of the Palm Pre, so the Palm Pixi allows for “taller” buttons to allow a better feel when typing.

Also, instead of the ball to navigate through menus, there is a “touch area”, which is used for forward and back gestures.

One major drawback is the lack of Wifi connectivity on this smartphone, but it is also aimed at a “cheaper” consumer, so this was probably omitted to keep costs low, which are to be cheaper than the $150-200 Pre.

Although not many details were provided on the Palm Pre, we still have a few specs. The Palm Pixie specs compared to the Palm Pre:

Palm Pixi is the Smaller Palm Pre and Sweet Like a Candybar

Just last week Nokia officially announced the Nokia N900 smatrphone, and now the Nokia X6 touchscreen media cellphone was added to the mix for music, video and fun loving cellphone addicts. So for those that are not looking for major productivity and would rather have a fun media on the go cellphone, the new Nokia X6 may be the best bet.

At first glance, this new media cellphone from Nokia looks like a major advancement from the previous Nokia 5800 Xpressmusic (also known as the Nokia Tube) that was released earlier this year. The new X Series cellphone first enhancement is the new Touchscreen, making the X6 an All-Touch mediaphone. Moreover, with 32GB internal memory, it definitely provides a little more freedom for adding your favorite media to be with you at all times. The thing is, there is no external slot to increase that size, but then again, that didn’t seem to be the most major bummer for iPhone users.

The Nokia X6 cellphone also has a 5-megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics, the S60 OSS Web Browser many are already familiar with, and includes Flash Lite 3 for YouTube viewing. Furthermore, the screen is now 3.2 inches with a widescreen display which allows for display rotating.

As in music, there is a 3.5mm jack, which will certainly answer music fans hopes for a better solution than before, and the battery claims to provide up to 35 hours of music at playback.

The Nokia X6 will retail for approximately 450 Euros (not adding taxes, fees, etc.)
