We are not sure what this bloke refers to as ergonomics, but the Pirate Computer Keyboard is certainly as bizarre as those one-eyed, patched up, seafaring gentlemen known as Pirates. Looks like the designer, Bobby Baker, has little faith in the technological skills of a pirate, owing to the minimalistic approach adopted in the keyboard! There are a total of six keys, the most essential ones. And then, suddenly it dawned…a pirate cannot read, can he? Teach him the essentials of ‘navigation’ with the help of the ‘space’, the ‘enter’, the ‘shift’, etc., and your job is half done. The keyboard then has hit its bull’s eye.

The Pirate Keyboard has no alphabet keys, except for an ‘R’, which we believe could stand for ‘rescue’. And then, you have a peculiar key placed away from the rest of the keys.  The ‘avast’ could perhaps mean a virus attack at sea (?). Well, we leave all the guesswork to you. For now, we say there is a quirkiness to this design that we find endearing. From a functional perspective, well, there ain’t no pirate smoothing his claws on plastic.

The Pirate Computer Keyboard Is Bizarre!

This Alchemist keyboard isn’t based on the book by Paolo Coelho as I originally thought, but actually on the alchemists of yore who did their best to create gold from other ordinary materials. Nonetheless, it is definitely one of the best keyboards I’ve ever seen till date. This keyboard not only has really amazing keys, but there is also a stained glass panel on the side and even a braided cord to complete the whole picture.

Although the keyboard is a USB keyboard, it can’t be used with a Mac because the lighting only works with the scroll lock key.

The creator has incorporated many symbols used by alchemists like the Eye of Ra and the Caduceus. In addition, there are symbols for the elements (earth, fire, water and air). The space bar is labeled “Secundum Artem” which means “According to the art” in Latin. The Shift Key and Enter Key have symbols that are used for processes like mixing, combining and stirring.

This attention to detail even extends to the brass rods that are below the space bar, and they have a special coating that prevents it getting tarnished. With so many special touches, this keyboard is definitely worth buying, unfortunately I don’t know where it is available, although it does say that the keyboard was designed for a pharmacist. Really appropriate.

The Alchemist Keyboard Mod is Very Cool

Much resembling an Abacus from the olden times, this keyboard will surely stand out in our huge list of Cool Keyboards. The main idea behind the use of this new device is that one can see the keys in front of the keyboard but in order to use them one needs to press the desired key from the backside of the keyboard, this might prove to be a little awkward as we are not used to holding a keyboard in hour hands and then typing backwards.

The keyboard is multimedia supported and includes all the standard functions, thankfully they have also provided a mouse (or maybe an analog controller) which can be controlled from the top side! I have no idea as to how we can make the full use of the keyboards potential; except setting it up on one’s PC and freak away any one who, you think will cause harm to your PC.

Weird Back Typing Keyboard For Those Who Live An Inverted Life

The new concept model for the controller and the keyboard looks like it was very much inspired by E.T and Flying Saucers, and not to forget the constant need for new and unique gaming controllers which should provide us a break from the ordinary. Maybe our friend Altug was planning to build his own Flying Saucer and then the need for an integrated keyboard and a gaming controller might have given him the inspiration for the cool new design.

Looks is not all that the keyboard has, the gaming controller is an integrated part of the keyboard itself and one can also use it as an individual controller as well, much reducing the pain to use and store an external joystick or a gaming controller for playing games on one’s computer.

The Saucer shaped design will seem quite awkward during initial use, especially while typing but one can get used to it pretty soon.  You can also have a look at the other funky keyboards that do make a statement like the CombiMouse, a cool combination of a keyboard and a mouse, or the Art Deco Keyboard mod, which is something for the folks who like it the classic way.

It is a good creative concept too. Instead of standard boring letters on keyboards there would brand logos for each letter. For instance for ‘E’ there can be ‘ebay’ or stylish M which is the logo of McDonald’s can replace the standard M, ‘G’ becomes ‘Google’ and ‘Y’ becomes YouTube and so on and so forth. And if one collects various popular brands of modern everyday life there are more than one representing each letter. This keyboard will definitely be advertising world’s delight!

Imagine – alphabets, language, thinking everything being represented and controlled by brands! Modern life and modern thinking is changing with rapid changing technology. Such a geeky future seems quite scary too.But let us hope creative people and creative thinking will always prevail above all.

Illuminated Flexible Keyboard Perfect for Night Shifts
