I don’t know if this is what someone would call end result of brainstorming, but the rounded chrome bottoms on the chess pieces ensure that never fall. I wonder how many would be game to spare $250 for this chess set. The pawns there look more like bowling pins more than what they actually are.

Luxurious Wooden Chess Set with Wobbly Pieces

Halloween is long gone, but this Star Wars Tauntaun costume deserves to be spoken about, cherished, and hailed as a great Geek creation! Star Wars fans have always dressed up in robes and adorned face paint to look like Jedi’s and Sith but this wasn’t enough for Scott Holden, for he wanted to go over the top and make himself an action Tauntaun costume.

For those who do not know what Tauntauns are, here is some Star Wars 101. Tauntauns are beasts of burden and transport on the planet Hoth in the world of Star Wars. They featured in Empire Strikes Back as the mode of transport for Luke Skywalker and Han Solo.

Now back to the costume: Scott made this amazing costume from scratch. Using designs made in Solidworks, he started to outline the Tauntaun. The head mold was detailed using clay, then a mold was made , then it was cast, and on and on. The horns were made in almost the same manner. Tedious process some say, I say it was passion for what he was doing.

Never thought an animal would have a chassis did you? Well this beast does! This component too made completely from scratch and the best bit of this costume? The costume walks and is not a static display. Scott had to fabricate his own stilts to make this beast complete.

Details were the last of Scott’s worries. Nailing them flawlessly, his buddy marched the Tauntaun into Zone Ball where it was noticed by everyone and won the Best Costume prize.

This majestic beast walked in with pride, won the prize and walked out without a second look. But it sure as hell got all the looks.

Tauntaun Costume On The Loose

This must be the tastiest set of nails a Bacon lover has ever seen and could create a huge problem with today’s youth, encouraging them to start a horrible habit of eating (I mean biting) their nails.

The cool set of Bacon Nails by theDailyNail seems too tasty, even without the greasy flavor, reminding me of the Super Mario Bros Nails. They are a great tribute to the All American Bacon meal in a way that is highly creative, appetizing and torturous for regular carnivores.

Muppets Chessboard Set: A Proxy Battlefield

If you fancy some music in your throat, the literal way, you should perhaps gulp a mouthful of this delicious looking Rock Band Concert Cake that one Guitar Hero groupie has baked for us. You have a guitar for the acoustics, a microphone for the vocals, and of course the quintessential drums for some soul-lilting, edible music. We are not sure what the recipe is, but it is quite apparent that this creation by PhotosBySgo has been heavily inspired by the Guitar Hero series, evident from the blues, reds, greens and the yellows prominently flashed on the drums and the guitar.

We would stop short of calling it a fitting tribute to the cult music video game; but from an aesthetic point of view and certainly from a gourmet’s perspective, the cakes are gulp-able. Well, sometimes we do need to take a break from all the gaming and the strumming, and give the gut some fodder…the enthusiast’s way. The cakes are a hit, alright!

The Rock Band Concert Cake Provides Edible Music

Marvel Comics is responsible for the success of the comic industry which is valued at millions, and the awesome characters that were created by the company still live in our daily lives, and such has been the influence of Marvel Comics in everybody’s life. Many people are such fans of Marvel Comics characters that they go ahead and crate art inspired by these characters.

One such person is the Knitty Cat who has uploaded many knitted dolls of Marvel Comics characters, which look really cool. The most attractive has to be the orange colored knitted doll of the ever-lovin’, blue-eyed Thing, member of the Fantastic Four.

It was created for the birthday of someone called Mat, who was indeed impressed. Along with The Thing, Knitty Cat has also created dolls of the Incredible Hulk, which was also created for Mat’s birthday.

The artist also plans to publish “how to” notes in the future so that you could also learn how to knit dolls of your favorite Marvel Comics characters. You might want to buy and keep threads of different colors before the artist publishes the “how to” notes!

The knitted dolls look really good, thanks to all the colorful threads used in the work. I am sure it took a long time for the artist to complete all these dolls. You could also read about the Fantastic Four Wobblers, which look incredibly cute.

Knitted Dolls of Incredible Hulk and The Thing

Whoever said getting a tattoo was the reserve of rock stars and all those kids who aimed to become one may have forgotten about Geeks, for video game fans have always been associated with tattoos as well, and what is better than checking out a couple of geeky Transformers tattoos?

Syn666 has uploaded a few geeky tattoos and the one that is a cross between Superman and Transformers is really cool, if you asked me. Using just red and yellow to ink the tattoo, the artist has impeccably created the Superman + Transformers tattoo, which is inked on the arm. He of course did not stop at crossing Transformers with Superman and went ahead and modified the Transformers tattoo with Cobra from G.I Joe.

This tattoo looks especially detailed and must have required a lot of time for the artist to ink, and a lot of pain for the wearer to bear. You must really notice the way the gray and blue shades are blended in order to create the pattern which so correctly depicts the characteristics of both transformers and Cobra, from G.I Joe.

I wonder what next could be the artist’s plan to ink! How about a Transformers tattoo that is crossed with the Jedi? Bruce Lee Dolls Bring The Kung Fu Hero Back To Life

If you are crazy about weird automobiles, you must perhaps make a visit to the Tokyo Motor Show which is currently the hot topic, especially with this cool Lexus transparent car as a real one that was displayed at the show. The car must have been made of acrylic glass just like the Lexus LF-A Crystallized Wind and it is quite surprising how they managed to build this to such perfection. While the car certainly looks cool, I wouldn’t be seen dead driving this car ever!

There would hardly be any privacy and if you and your date decide to go on a “long drive” get busy with “business”, you might just get arrested for illegal and indecent exposure. I would say, if you are the kind of person who would associate the backseat of the car with steamy entertainment, you really must stay away from this car unless you are an exhibitionist and are willing to risk arrest.

Nevertheless, it does look quite cool and must cost a fortune to buy if it ever reaches the market. I guess it would be a spectacular sight when you crash this car into another with all the glass shards flying all over the place gloriously reflecting night street lamps.
