Yoda, the Jedi Master, died after 900 years in the sixth sequel, but is reminisced by Star Wars Fans over decades with a growing fanbase, toys and tributes.  Design buffs have honored their obsession by bringing the delight of Yoda character to Food art, game accessories and even in the form of cute dolls. This time an aficionado got heads turning with something unconventional and not heard before, a Star Wars Backlit Coffee Table.

Being First of its kind, this conversation piece offers space for individuals to talk at length over a cup of coffee. The backlit image of Yoda wielding his lightsaber is what makes an otherwise normal table into something to die for. A custom-cut 10mm glass is put atop, so accidentally spilling coffee should not pull up worrisome lines.

There is a white cable that will provide energy from the mains, thereby bringing the most cherished character of Star Wars to life.  There is just one unit, so does not come with a pre-determined price tag. The maker has put it for bidding on eBay but suggests he should be contacted to confirm for delivery charges for different destinations.

So the odds of every Star Wars enthusiast fetching this one are rather bleak, but don’t let your enthusiasm frizzle out. Star Wars Yoda Backlit Coffee Table is First of its kind!

Who else but only a geek (and a gaming fan for that matter) would find this Coffee Table whose base resembles a PS3 console fascinating, as the modern world is becoming completely geeky with many a designers coming up with designs and concepts inspired by retro and modern games.

The PS3 Coffee Table Will Surely Find a Place in Geek Home!

Traditional furniture designs are getting interesting modern makeovers these days for better use in sleek urban geek homes, as we can see with the Tok & Study, which presents a low and portable study table design concept; ideal for lazy and studious geeks who feel reluctant to leave their beds.

The Tok & Study design concept by Helder Filipov, who also brought you the awesome Tetris Furniture, has already won awards and it is a winning design because both teh back and foot rest folds up and fits neatly in the desk. One can also keepa  laptop on it and work and play for hours in relaxed reclining position without straining the back and legs. It just does away with the entire need of sitting on chair at home after long hours at office desks.

Most oriental cultures traditionally have always used such low desks or tables. This Tok & Study Low desk  prototype design seems to be inspired by those good old designs and culture where one would sit either sit on floor or bed and work on low desks.  It is certainly more stylish and sleek piece of furniture and will look awesome in any modern home or geek den.

Tok & Study is an Innovative Low Study Desk Design

Many know Tetris as one of the few retro games that is still popular today and provides of fun and challenging hours for geeks and children. Now is is back with a vengeance in a cool 3D Tetris game chair that would go wonderful with the Tetris Furniture that fits the geeky theme so well.

This amazing artwork by Gabriel Cañas strikes a different chord by mentioning of the principle material that goes into the making of this rainbow chair. He suggests the use of fiberglass for it, which would weigh less, making it easier to move aorund. Moreover, the pepped up bright colors do offer an extra spice, which could match the gaming screen proudly.

Since there isn’t any trace of upholstery, I am a little skeptical as to how comfortable this would be. The designer, in his defense, might snap back saying people sit on rocks and enjoy beach side. Umm…this isn’t a legitimate argument because it’s close to impossible to experience crashing of tiny waves on one’s feet in the comfort of a couch or a gaming chair! Awesome Pacman Game Chair Design Will Make Gamers Fight for a Seat

I was scolded a lot for keeping on playing the good old Tetris every day throughout my entire childhood, and I’m sure there may be many out there who might have gone through worse, but I hardly ever thought that all those years of gaming would ever be put to any better use. Finally I meet this awesome guy Jonas Samson, who opened my eyes to the truth of all those years of gaming, as he created the Tetris Table, a result of all his past years of gaming.

He, as quoted in his own words, describes that the Table was the outcome of all those years he spent into playing the all time favorite Tetris. And unlike most of us he actually managed to make some very good use of all his experience in gaming and putting it together to come up with something that is so cool and artistic, all topped up with the natural hint of gaming. The table measures up 100 x 40 x 40 cm and is made up from different types of wood, giving the look of a giant piece of gaming frenzy popping right out of the 3D version of the game. Although the design looks a bit shaky in it’s roots, it is surprisingly very strong and sturdy and has the capacity to bear a fair amount of load.

Tetris Table Design is The Outcome Of Years Of Gaming

Yes, it is a coffee table, and a mighty puzzling mosayk wiggle board coffee table that you are looking at for leaving messages and notes. The designer Dan Levin, was apparently inspired by the confusing movements through a city grid. I am sure he is talking about some Indian city.

Whatever the case maybe, I am truly amazed at the idea of having a table with a puzzle to solve and play around with while i am having my cup of coffee. It is always nice to have messages left in your name when you get home too…so this table serves the purpose that way too. It can also be a part of easy and fun learning for kids at home, to learn new words each day. Personally I love SCRABBLE so any word game is always welcome!

Ok, enough of the whole Tetris talk. Coming back to this post, as the name suggests, it is about a bunch of Tetris shelves that are available at Brave Space Design. The Tetris Furniture are all completely customizable and are essentially made up of five shapes. These are the shapes that are available

This is essentially all you need to make the shelves. Once you have these four shapes, you can pretty much build your own shelf so that it fits the exact requirement of your room. Pretty nifty right? But that isn’t it. These shelves are available in a range of sizes depending on how large your room or space is.

This is the standard version

Then there is the mini version which is about 2/3 the size of the original Tetrad shelf. There is also the flat Tetrad shelf which is made of 10 different kinds of blocks and looks like quite a space saver. This version is very colorful as well, and finally there is the bamboo version of the Tetrad shelves with amber and natural bamboo.
