Gummy Bear Chandelier Swings Here, There, and Everywhere

Suppose you’re watching an old episode of Zorro and as usual our hero is horribly outnumbered, so naturally to even the odds he strikes a nearby rope that sends the ceiling chandelier plummeting to the ground on top of them, mercilessly crushing them with…Gummi bears?

I’ve seen some pretty impressive candy art before, like say the World’s Largest Gummy Bear, some good old fashioned Pacman Candy or if you’re a more recent sweet tooth a Wall-E Pinata, but this chandelier will light up your room with a unique flavor of it’s own (See what I did there?). Personally I think as an additional touch they should totally have it rotate while playing the Gummi Bears TV show theme song. You DO know how that goes right? If you don’t then go look it up right now via your local Google search. Catchy.

Now the company that makes this is a firm called Jellio which surprisingly enough specializes in off-the-wall designs like Gummi Glasses and Rubik’s Cube Tables. The gummi bears themselves are actually made out of 1″ acrylic bear treats, so don’t think about grabbing one off the light when you need an occasional sugary pick-me-up, because something tells me they won’t taste as good as they look. The ceiling plate is made from powder coated aluminum and the chandelier sports an impressive 31″ diameter. It is also powered by a 50 watt compact florescent bulb (you can go higher if you want to for especially bright Gummi bear friends). You better have this thing thoroughly secured to the ceiling though, because it weighs in at 50 lbs. Not exactly something you can throw up with some tacks or stickies.

These things aren’t easy to put together either. This “candelier” has 5,000 hand-strung gummi bears. If you’re thinking that’s a whole lot of bears…you’re absolutely right, and the process of putting one together takes a staggering two months. Calling one of these puppies limited edition would be an understatement, considering that according to Jellio only ten chandeliers will ever be made….ever. I’d love to see what this thing costs but the price isn’t readily available on the site, so you’ll have to request it yourself. I’d brace yourself for a big number though. No one puts together 5,000 hand-strung gummi bears on a 50 pound chandelier over a two month period and gives it away on the cheap.

If Winter blues have got you down, then just imagine the sweet, nerdy dreams you could have snuggled up under these Nintendo themed quilts featuring the Super Mario Brothers characters to keep you company!

Punzie quilts a variety of designs from Mario and Luigi in all their red and green glory to the ever-mysterious item block and devious Goomba onto bedspreads, throws and pillows sure to delight any videogame fan.

I love crafts that use the pixilated nature of old video games in a new, creative ways. Even as video games have moved beyond the blurry, boxy characters of the late 80s and early 90s, the traditional black borders and squared-off designs still hold instant appeal to anyone who grew up trying to save the princess on their NES.

These designs would be great for a guest room, or more accurately, a gaming room with a futon that’s sometimes called a guestroom as so many of my friends have. And what freshman dorm room would be complete without a little 1-up love? Oh the geek jokes that could abound!

While all the designs are eye-catching, the queen-sized set complete with raccoon Mario bedspread, Mario and 1-Up mushroom shams, and Goomba and Boo throw pillows outdoes them all.

I was looking for a decorating scheme for the new apartment I’m moving in to in August, and this could be it! Add some Pac Man mugs, an NES game cartridge transformed into an iPhone dock, and a Tetris chair and I’d have the perfect palace of retro geekdom to make all my friends jealous!

Ghostly Pacman Wall Lamps Would Complete the Game Room Scene

After presenting the Pacman bookshelf a few days back, Italian designer Mirko Ginepro, was convinced that Pacman looked lonely and thus designed the ghosts in the form of lamps resembling Pinky, Blinky, Clyde and Inky on the lines of its famous Pacman Game. These ghosty wall lamps are prepared from a steel support, if put along with Pacman bookshelf would make a complete picture.

In my opinion ghosts could be adjusted pretty well on the spacious wall, if you have one in your home. Instead of TV you could adjust ghostly lamps and can create a game like scenario, Pacman trying to gulp or eat those little ghosts.

It is but sure, kids in your home could go berserk after seeing the combo of Pacman book case trying to gulp those little ghosts. Convinced by the exceptional scene, they could invite their friends and colleagues to glance this classic scene happening in their living room which now looks similar to a complete Gamer room. So get enough refreshment ready for your guests. Why not organize a party instead? Your guests would surely be convinced by the scene you created in your living room. It could also happen that you have to prepare dinner for them as well.

Well, if the “it” in question is a Star Wars game, here is what you could do to sleep with your favorite video game. Kayla Kromer has designed an amazingly geeky Star Wars Millennium Falcon bed. It comes with fully functioning headlights, starfield projection and also has enough space for you to hide all your action figures.

The space is located in the cockpit, and if you were wondering how you could manage to get suitable pillows, Kayla has taken care of them too and has designed the cool Radar Dish Pillow. No Star Wars fan can deny the coolness of this bed, which looks exactly like the Millennium Falcon featured in the Star Wars series.

Pop The Weasel Will Bust An Eye To Keep The Door Open For You!

It’s not every day that a character in a nursery rhyme comes to life and pleads with you to take it home and torture, so, when that does happen, jump at the chance and do just that! Pop the Weasel might have been run over by a car but he still looks cute enough to just dust him off and take him home. Plus, that flat torso of his means he’ll work great as a doorstop now.

This $25 rubber-made roadkill is precious because it not only takes the burden of just about any door on his back, Pop also has this cute (read gross) way of popping an eyeball when the strain gets to be too much. Try slamming a door when Pop the Weasel is at work and you can be sure that his eye would burst right out of his socket. You don’t want to have to clean that bloody gore off your carpet, so take care of Pop instead.

Pop the Weasel comes in his own coffin with the tire marks of the car that killed him still looking fresh. You even get to have his Death certificate (just so you can mourn for him on that special day every passing year)! What better way is there to stop your doors from banging shut behind you then to have Pop hold it open like the dead pet that he is?

a great creation that reminds me a little of the funny Toothpaste Heads and also the Squeeze Head Condiment Dispensers.
