It doesn’t take a great Photoshop pro to get this don, and you could do it yourself. All you would need to make your profile picture a little funky is gather a camera or a picture which you already have, image editing software like Photoshop or GIMP or even Paint, and of course, the attached picture.

However, the success of your profile picture popping out depends on how you take the image in the first place. You would need to pick a picture that makes you look like you are peeking out from the white part, so as to match Facebook interface. If you can’t figure how to do it, just get a white cardboard and get your photo clicked. You can now use one of the image editing software mentioned above and cut out your face and hands, and discard all the background.

Now you would need to paste your picture on the background image above and make sure you do not alter the image size as it would look weird on Facebook. Once you have pasted your cut-out picture on the background, you would have a seamless transparent image that would make your profile look totally cool.

Facebook may change its interface often, and make your new Popup Profile Picture look weirder than hell, but Max at Instructables promises to update the background image according to the changes made to the Interface of Facebook. We all know how annoying it is when we are told by the system that our ink cartridges are empty. It is not only annoying but is expensive too, to buy new cartridges frequently. However, there seems to be a little secret which the ink cartridge companies don’t want us to know.

It is possible to not only harness remaining ink in the cartridge before throwing, but we can get almost half of the cartridge! All one would need to do is reset the cartridge using a pin. One would need to locate a hole above the circuit at the back of the cartridge and reset it easily. This would allow you to use the ink that you would otherwise have thrown in to the dustbin.

The video shows an Epson cartridge and it is not clearly mentioned if we can use this trick on cartridges by all companies. However, before you throw the cartridge away, do try this trick just in case it helps! This would not only save us from spending more on ink, but would also give us the pleasure of doing something that big corporations do not want us to do.

The MP3 Music Player Grenade Mod is a heck of a creative modification and I would also say dangerous, for it uses an actual grenade (but mentioned it was inactive).

This cool musical mod uses an old MP3 player, a grenade and some workmanship to create a working music grenade. How did this individual come up with such an explosive idea? How did someone sit around watching TV, listening to music or playing paintball and thought of combining a hand grenade with a musical MP3 player?

Even though, I must say I would love to have one. I may not bring it with me while traveling…for all the reasons you are thinking of, but it would be great to either prank my close friends, bring it to a party, or have it hanging from my jacket getting people to leave me alone when listening to my tunes.

Who Says A Baby Can’t Twitt?

A Software consultant residing in Seattle named Kaminsky finally revealed the hole which stays at the heart of the Internet. His 80 minute detailed analysis mentions a catastrophic bug threatening of poisoning the machines which translate domain names into Internet protocol addresses.

The abstract point is that there is a major loop hole in the DNS system which Internet relies on since 1983. This problem arose while converting the domain names in to the respective IP address.

What Kaminsky discovered is that the safeguard to prevent tampering and DNS queries include a random transaction number. The response is only considered valid if it contains the same number and may be easily circumvented, for there are just 65,536 possible transaction ID’s. By flooding a DNS server with multiple requests for a domain name with slight variations for example 1.livearticles.info , 2.livearticles.info, 3.livearticles.info, and so on, the system can be easily compromised because it actually increases the chances of reproducing the correct number after every try by the attacker. If the attacker has a good built CPU with a descent Internet connection he can easily short burst the target.

We can only hope that this implementation is not still used by any attacker and we cannot be sure of that. Now the fortune 500 companies have their eye on Kaminsky about his warning patch. The truth is that among Fortune 500 companies, 15 per cent have yet to take any action, and another 15 per cent are still vulnerable to some extent because they use network address translation gear that prevents the patch from working.
