We have seen many various and creative iPhone cases before, but Jaws fans would just want to get their hands on this one for it is dangerously cute.

It has been quite some time since the iPhone 3GS Jailbreak has been released, but ever since this specific jailbreak, newer iPhone 3GS models had to be connected to the computer in order to reboot and re-jailbreak their iPhone. There may be a new solution now with the new iDongle.

Preliminary Notes:

- This video was provided as a tip, so we have not tried this new iPhone 3GS jailbreak and do not know whether it does in fact work. Jailbreaking your iPhone is at your own discretion and responsibility.
- The iDongle claims to solve the tethering problem iPhone 3GS owners have had with a bootrom above 5.12.07*. It does NOT deal with jailbreaking iPhone OS 3.1.3. For the latter jailbreak, you can checkout How To Jailbreak iPhone 3.1.3 with Snowbreeze.

The new iPhone iDongle is a miniature device that claims to act as your tethered connection when in need to Jailbreak your iPhone 3GS (OS 3.1.2 and below). This iDongle savior takes care of the problem iPhone 3.1.2 3GS owners (with a bootrom above 5.12.07*) have had for quite some time. Those with this current bootrom and above have witnessed the wonderful Jailbreak by GeoHot for the 3GS in an extremely easy version. The major downfall is that if a Reboot is done or a hard reset, you must ‘re-jailbreak’ your iPhone. Even worst, in order to re-jailbreak, you must hook it up to your computer. Of course, this is a pain, but in the meantime, there hasn’t been a solution to that…until the iDongle.

As can be seen in the demo video, the iDongle simply connects to your iPhone (as the iPhone USB cable), but it is wireless, portable and is powered by a 9V battery. When in need of a reboot, the iDongle goes to work and acts as the jailbreaker of the iPhone 3GS. The video shows the process working and the simplicity, but there are a few unanswered (not yet proven) things that cannot be determined from the video alone, such as Bootrom version and authenticity of the presentation.

Still, those with Jailbroken iPhone 3GS that have the newer bootrom and have experienced this frustrating tethering problem know exactly how such a device is like a miracle worker. To be able not have to be connected in order to Jailbreak?! That would simply be heaven.

The iDongle is currently in limited supplies but as mentioned in source below, it is hopefully going to reach a wider market.

We have seen blackboards in the classrooms followed by their white versions and a for a new decade, there may be a tech flavor of the boards up and running in their classrooms such as the iPhone Chalkboard. We do have a prototype up for grab, codenamed as iPhone chalkboard which is basically a blackboard in the shape of the most popular Smartphone, Apple’s iPhone. It is smaller than classroom board and thus suits for home. Ya, that’s why a prototype!

A chalkboard is nothing new to tell about its uses and/or potential. But this one is a good tool to showcase your love for Apple. It would make an awesome piece of wall decoration for a geek and at the same time will serve as a reminder, for Techies (like me) who more than often lazy and big procrastinator,when it comes to normal worldly things. Right?

So what’s the other difference between using iPhone chalkboard or a normal one? Any guess? Well, while you may try to avoid the sight of ordinary ones, this techie board is hard to avoid. Credit to the iPhone style or love. Whatever. Plus, regular look on the board means regular reminders of the items pending on it. Great tool to minimize procrastination habits.

It had been here and there in the pics but now we have video as proof. The guy in the video is actually showcasing the iPhone 3GS by changing its back cover with the one with titanium coating. The titanium coated cover is made by himself only (as he says in the video). The positive from this cover is that it allows users to make calls as easily as it is without hindering the smoothness of using the phone, as was the case with some plastics covers which surfed the Internet earlier.

Though we do not have any details available regarding the price and expected release date with the geographical distribution of the cover, expect the formal announcement by the maker very soon. Sending a video feed to public makes his intention clear, that it will arrive shortly. Plus, since the manufacturer is said to be in Austria, so it won’t surprise us if residents get the upper hand in trying the accessory earlier than anyone else.

Speaking of games, the touchscreen does improves the experience but would not it be easier if we had a device that could attach with the iPhone and serve as a controller. Thankfully, the developer ZotTTD was listening and has come out with a controller, the iControlPad. There will be two versions of the product. One will serve as a basic controller while the second version will be able to charge your iPhone/iPod and will not put a load on your device’s battery while playing. Although there is no concrete word available on the pricing, it is obvious that the former will be cheaper than the latter.

The pad (don’t confuse with Apple iPad) will fit the iPhone into it and will feature a D-Pad and two analog joysticks coupled with four control and two function keys. Really a controller-like experience for iPhone/iPod touch gaming, which I think will come very handy when playing Action/Arcade games.

Like the pricing, expected release date is also not official till now. Moreover, the developers said that the product is under mass production, so pending details (regarding pricing and release date with availability) are just round the corner. A survey has been put up on the iControlPad.com (which looks like the official website for the product), where you can participate and let them know your personal desires from the product and a verdict on pricing and how badly you want one. If you want to experience it (yes, even before release) just ask them for a review unit of the device (at the above mentioned website), and the rest depends on your luck. Better Hurry! Not to forget, you will need a jailbroken iPhone to test the device, preferably iPhone 3GS broken with N64 emulation.

Since the iPhone age dawned, there has been a massive increase in the production of accessories to match up with the Apple’s iPhone. Etsy seller RabbitRampage’s creation iPhone icon Felt Keychain is another cool accessory for your iPhone. These soft keychains made of felt and stuffed with fiber remind me of the Plush Sushi Dolls for their cuteness. I don’t like hard mobile phone accessories like Moshi Monster as they are more vulnerable to get smashed by either getting trampled under feet or falling down suddenly. You can hook up these felt keychains with your bags or your gadgets to make them look cool and to show off your love for iPhone.

But, before buying them do consider the fact that they are just keychains and you can not do anything else except tying them to your bags, pouches, gadgets or hanging keys in them unlike Big Lebowski Talking Keychain that plays some lines from Dude and his motley entourage or the Darth Vader and R2-D2 Key Chains that produce light and sound. But, who says that you don’t need them, you do, if you really love your iPhone, you can add up this pretty cool keychain to it and make it happy.

Hey! Don’t expect to jailbreak these icons as you may end up tearing them into pieces. Lol! The mail icon keyring shows four new mails waiting while the calendar shows 4^th date and Monday, and the clock strikes seven minutes to 3’o clock. The icons are tied up with the keyrings by a sturdy ribbon strap that will save them from getting detached.

The bad thing is that there are just six icons available in the form of key chains and more killing is the fact that these are available in limited supply so I wish there could have been a bit more. These keychains measure 1.5″ x 1.5″ and are priced at $6.00 each and if you want to buy three of them altogether, you will have to pay $16.00. I guess the price won’t make a hole in your pocket, so being reasonably priced; they can be picked instantly by geeks. Pace up with the ever expanding i-Generation by adding up cool products like iStyle Originals and iPhone Earrings to your wardrobe and locking them with the keys strung in iPhone icon keychains.You may also like to keep your keychain in Safe and Cozy Egoor Pacman iPhone and iPod Pouch.

Their efficacy and efficiency is far from known, and sometimes you may even risk rendering your iPhone unworkable, if things went wrong. With that in mind, here is yet another video which claims to jailbreak use Sn0wBreeze 3.1.3 to jailbreak iPhone 3.1.3 firmware.

We had earlier read that iPhones running on iPhone 3.1.3 OS can’t be jailbroken with Blackra1n, which depressed a lot of people. Now, it turns out that you could use Sn0wBreeze 3.1.3 to jailbreak the new iPhone 3.1.3 firmware update. In a detailed video, one could see that it is quite a lengthy procedure.

NOTE: this was provided as a tip to us, we have yet to try it and are NOT sure if this is actually going to work. Hence, using the Snowbreeze 3.1.3 iPhone Jailbreak is your own responsibility and action. We are not responsible of failure of your iPhone in any way by using the Snowbreeze jailbreak.

A commenter reveals that you would need to download 3.1.3 Custom Firmware and Sn0wbreeze 3.1.3 v4. You might also need to download the bypass error program for the iTunes, and begin to jailbreak. The program asks you to confirm if you are ready to go through the procedure a few times, and you would just have to agree.

The successful jailbreaking also depends upon which generation of iPhone you are using. You could then choose a custom boot logo and move on to extract the IPSW. Later you would need to connect your iPhone 3G(S) and enter the recovery mode. Now, you it would be required to hold the shift button after launching iTunes and click the Restore button in iTunes. Afterward, your iPhone will be placed on recovery mode, and you would be required to connect the iPhone to the system using USB. From here, open Sn0wBreeze 3.1.3 and extract it.

Many commentators even in the YouTube page of the video have revealed that it didn’t work. However, some have claimed they really could jailbreak the iPhone 3.1.3 OS. Moreover, if I had an already unlocked iPhone, I would desist from upgrading the OS to the next version and then again trying to jailbreaking it and making a whole mess of it. If the iPhone gets jailbroken or not is something that I can’t confirm. Since it was a tip that we received, we would like to hear from you guys if you were successful in jailbreaking using this video!

George Hotz, also known as the famous Geohot hacker who has Jailbroken and Unlocked the original iPhone, then again provided the iPhone 3GS Jailbreak with Blackra1n and has started messing with the new PS3 Hack, has had some shattering news. According to Geohot, it seems that the new Apple iPhones that are running iPhone 3.1.3 OS cannot be jailbroken with Blackrain and may not be possible to Jailbreak at all. To add some extra salt on our wounds, he says that ‘there is no untethered jailbreak’*, which is some real depressing news.

*New: tethered iPhone 3GS Jailbreak

Geohot has managed to provide Jailbreaking methods to previous iPhone models including the newest iPhone 3GS, yet the newest Apple iPhone’s firmeware consist of additional specs that are not allowing the regular Jailbreaks to happen. Moreover, although Blackra1n did in fact Jailbreak previous iPhone 3GS up to (and including) iPhone 3.1.2, this was still a tethered Jailbreak*. This meant that if you have Jailbroken the iPhone 3GS with Blackrain (and you were beyond certain RAM specs), then if the device is rebooted, turned off or restarted, you would HAVE TO connect it again and Jailbreak it once more for it to boot up and function properly.

Important iPhone Jailbreak Notes: For those that are itching for the new iPhone 3.1.3 OS (even though it doesn’t really add much), then the Dev Team may have found an iPhone 3.1.3 Jailbreak for the previous iPhone and iPod Touch models, using the Redsn0w 0.9 version (NOT INCLUDING iPhone 3GS and newest iPod Touch). You can find the instructions, warnings and steps straight at the Dev Team site.

If you run across real iPhone 3.1.3 Blackra1n Jailbreak info, an untethered Jailbreak or more updates from Geohot, then please share the news with the rest of us below.

*it is a tethered Jailbreak for certain iPhone 3GS models that are above a specific Boot Rom version. For those below, it is an untethered Jailbreak. Thanks Nick for the correction!
