I know that Sony has recently made a substantial price cut with the new PS3 Slim release, but to have a Gold PS3 Slim just raises the price again…but a lot higher than it even began.

Computer Choppers are at it again, and this time they are providing a new PS3 Slim color that is too rich for many gamers…shiny 24K gold. You heard right! this new Playstation Slim is being dipped in 24Karat Gold, making this probably the most expensive video game console ever made, unless you count computers in the equation, and then you have the 24 Karat Gold Macbook Pro.

Now the thing is, Choppers are also limiting this release (or splurge) to 5 single PS3 Slims, which makes it even more difficult for gaming fans to get their hands on one…even just to see, touch or play.

Well, no one said beauty comes cheap, and in this case, the anticipated high price is not yet provided. I guess we will just have to wait to see if our piggy bank can afford one of the Gold PS3’s…of yeah, and also see more images of the console.

Gold PS3 Slim for 5 Rich Gamers

There are many new designs and concepts coming out for the Playstation concepts, and this new one is aimed to be a PS4 Controller that is entitled Cobra controller.

Although the PS4 console doesn’t seem to be the main thing on Sony’s mind, designers have already added it top their futuristic themed project. Besides the actual future console, this cool looking Cobra PS4 game controller was designed by Jiang Qian with style and trend in mind.

The PS4 controller has fans built in that must be envisioned to help gamers who spend long hours have a little comfort by cooling their hands and drying the accrued sweat. Moreover, it seems like this controller is interested in a little ‘look at me’ design with the sleek style and the bright colors on a clean white controller.

Since it is just a concept, there aren’t any tech specs to provide, but along with the PS3 Wand concept, it is a great design we hope provides good feedback to Sony.

PS4 Controller Conceptual Design

While most are looking forward to getting their hand on the new PS3 Wand to come out, a new concept surfaced that shows a closer look at at the hopeful PS3 Magic Wand controller.

This new concept of the PS3 Motion Controller by Miguel Duarte shows some cool variations of what we could really expect, but it is still OK to dream when it comes to PS3 controller and accessories.

Miguel has designed the PS3 Wand controller as a real handheld and a tad shorter than we have seen in the demonstration videos of Sony. Moreover, he went ahead and designed a PS3 Wand connecting adapter, which is supposed to connect two Magic Wands together to create a full PS3 controller similar to the dual shock most PS3 fans are in love with.

The latter is actually a practical design that would enable two Magic Wands to be used in other forms and not just in motion sensing PS3 Games. Still, it doesn’t seem like such an adapter will be created at such a late stage, so we may have to wait for the PS4 to be made first.

No technical specs (or design specs) were provided with this concept, but it does seem like Miguel has stayed true to the Playstation brand with its sleek looks, color, and curve features. We can just hope Sony will release a good working product that will remain cool looking like we are free to expect.

PS3 Magic Wand Controller Concept Design

The long awaited PSP Go is finally released with the much backing hype and also along with a new PSP Firmware Version 6.10 available for additional awesome features.

The PSP Go is available in either Black or White version right off the bat, at a price of only $249.99.

The new Playstation Portable Go has a brand new exciting design along with some enhanced features from the previous versions including the PSP 3000. When comparing to the previous newest Playstation Portable, the PSP Go has changed in the following areas (For Full Tech Specs…check below video):

Of course, the new PSP Go is a cooler design that is an actual slider, and without the UMD, makes it weigh a lot less. Also, the controls have changed a bit to make it more compact and portable…in hopes to provide PSP fans a better Sony handheld. Also, it is still has Wireless connectivity, great gaming and the PS3 and PSP integration.

PSP Firmware V6.1:

Along with the new release of the PSP Go, a new PSP Firmware Update Version 6.1 is released, which grants some cool new addition compared to the PSP Firmware 6.00.

For those getting a new PSP Go, the new firmware 6.1 should be updated to make sure all is compatible and working properly. As the Playstation Blog mentioned, a new exciting feature of the new PSP Firmware 6.1 is the SensMe feature. SensMe is a cool feature which is similar to the Genius Mix of iTunes 9 which categorizes music added to the PSP through the PC. It uses a 12 tine analysis and cateogorizes them by “relax”, or “newly added” and more.

Another nice addition is the Media Go Enhancement which updates the Media Go v1.2 overall design. The new application makes it easy to organize the images, videos, music that are transferred and synced with the computer. Moreover, it grants easy access to the Playstation store for title purchases, backup and restoration of PSP games. You could always use the PSP Wireless connectivity to do so, but it is much easier using a PC and transferring all to the PSP.

Last amazing feature is for the PSP Go only is the Tethering, which grants the new PSP Go the ability to connect to the Internet by using Bluetooth with an Internet able device. This means that if you are not by a Wifi spot and able to connect 3G with your phone…then so can the PSP Go.

PSP Go is a GO and PSP Firmware 6.10 Also Released

Sony has released the new PS3 Firmware Update 3.01 after a number of problems and stability issues were reported after the previous PS3 Firmware Update 3.00 was installed.

Playstation 3 users have reported some stability issues in certain games including “Uncharted”, and PS3 Firmware 3.01 update has seemed to patch that issue and make it a past problem. This specific update is not mandatory if you haven’t incurred such issues, but it is also better to be safe than sorry and make sure the patch is in place, as to avoid problems ahead of time.

Sony has promised that this new Playstation 3 Firmware Update will improve system stability with a variety of games, and I am certain they would like to put such a problem behind them as well.

You may download the new PS3 3.01 at US Playstation or at Europe Playstation in order to finalize the issues.

Download PS3 Firmware Update 3.01 to Fix Stability Issues

This is an old conceptual design of the PS3 Slim that never saw the light of day, but would it have received a better response than what was actually released?

Designed by Djeric only a few weeks before the PS3 Slim was actually released, this is a cool looking Playstation 3 Slim design made in 3D.

This PS3 Slim design however seems like an upgraded PS2 that was made a tiny bit slimmer and more futuristic. It is not so off the wall as one would expect from a brand new design, but it does have a few cool looking things, such as the see through CD/DVD drive and the Bang & Olufsen kind of style. Still, some may actually enjoy the minimalistic design better than what was truly released.

So from all the different designs and PS3 mods, is the new PS3 Slim better, this current Slim PS3 Concept or even the new PS4 design?

Is This PS3 Slim Concept Better?

The PS3 Slim was just released this month and Colorware already provides the ability to give it a little color and change it all over, so if the recent changes of the Playstation 3 Slim are not sufficient for you, then you can create your own color combination and make a color PS3 Slim mod.

Colorware has always been a place to give your different gadget or console a different color and spice things up. The new arival is the PS3 Slim which it seems kind of early to already be enthusiastic about making a change.

For $149, Colorware will paint your PS3 Slim with different color combinations you can come up with at their site. Better yet, if you still haven’t gotten your hands on the PS3 Slim, then for $449 you can just buy a brand new one from them, with the custom paint job of your choice. Better yet, they will also match the PS3 Slim controller with color combination you chose for free, but if you want an additional Dual Shock controller to be painted, that would be an additional $30 for the paintjob (not including the controller).

Color your PS3 Slim Like the Rainbow with Colorware

After the PS3 Firmware update v3.00, dynamic themes may be added to the Playstation screen, and here is a second Free PS3 dynamic theme based on the game Wipeout Fury.

Based on the latest Euro PSN update, 3 separate PS3 animated themes were added, which are: WipEout HD Dynamic Theme, MotorStorm Dynamic Theme and LittleBigPlanet ‘Sackboy on the run’ Dynamic Theme. The last two include a price next to them but the Wipeout one does not…meaning it is a Free Animated Theme.

You may watch the video below to see the Wipeout theme in action and determine whether you prefer this one over the Free Afrika PS3 dynamic theme seen over a week ago.

It seems like it has been a really popular Sony month, with the new PS3 Slim being released, the updates, the themes, and it seems they continue to deliver more surprises here and there…we hope it is more stuff for free.

Free PS3 Dynamic Theme: Wipeout Animated PS3 Theme Video

As much as the main attraction is usually the PS3 Firmware Update or the new PS3 Slim, for those that own a PSP, a new Firmware Update Version 6.00 is available through the XMB.

There aren’t too many changes to the previous PSP firmware but some Playstation Portable gamers always want the newest update, all the fixes, all the features and especially if it is free.

PSP Firmware Update V. 600 includes the following:

- a few colors were added to custom your XMB, which can be found under Theme Settings.
- A new security patch was included in Version 6.00
- System Update is the new name for Network Update
- PSP may be updated without having to have a full charge…what an overdue relief.
- Games can be regrouped and presented in folders based on expiration date…does this mean that game rentals are going to be added?

There aren’t real exciting additions in this current PSP System Update, but then again, Sony has been known to continually release new updates frequently, so maybe something a little more inspiring will be out in the near future.

PSP System Software Update Version 6.00 Released

PSP fans will surely rejoice when they come to know of this PSP Pillow, as modding stuff of daily use to suite our taste has become a rage of sorts, I guess. Made by this norsuneiti, a Playstation Portable fan, this PSP pillow is quite close to what the gaming gadget looked like in its very first avatar.

The pillow has a grey colored felt patch which denotes the LCD screen. The couch accessory is in black color, the standard PSP color and sports the PSP and Sony logos. Even the back of the pillow has been made like that of the portable device, with the buttons well placed and at proper positions. All in all, this pillow is a great collectible for PSP fans and even ardent collectors, and the images provided here are of the cushion sans the filling and one pic shows the details of this stuff in its ironed form.
