Unlike the Perfect Woman Robot, Kim the Robot is not meant to look like a real woman or sound like a woman, but she does provide its practical and funny utlity…she audibly tells you the time once you press her nose.

Besides the practical part, Kim is a round faced Robot with a cool copper streak of hair wrapped around her head with little cute curls at its ends. She always provides you a half smile, as if she knows something you don’t, but she does…the current time. Designed for 100% Design show at Earls Court, London, the mechanical drumming fingers are an identical resin copy of the creators own hand. Using simple principles of Physics that govern kinetic energy, Ramage has managed to conjure up a unique replica of an impatient human hand. Wacky though this might seem, such conceptualizing truly portrays the mind of a genius.

Just imagine glancing at a colleagues’ desk and coming across a few fingers tapping away in isolation! Kind of makes you want to start drumming improv, doesn’t it? The inspiration that must have gone into designing the fingers and actually creating a mechanism that works really must be tremendous!

Robot Fingers Drumming Away the Boredom

If you are a pet owner, you will know what a teary situation arises when you are forced to leave your loved friend alone at home., and at such times, the thought of someone baby sitting your pet arises and this Mint care PetCare robot is here just to do that.

When you go out on business trips or even when you go to you workplace, you know that your pet is feeling lonely and getting bored alone at home. But, if you have one of these robots at home, you don’t have to worry about your pet at all – the robot acts as a spare guardian of your pet. In your absence, it moves around the house with your pet, thus, making your pet less lonely. The gadget can play with your pet with the “pet ball” that’s fitted at the base of the gadget. Depending upon your settings, the pet ball detaches itself from the main toy and rolls around the area making the pet chase it, providing much do exercise like the Dog Treadmill. Even the ball is completely remote controlled and the resting dock doubles up as a recharging dock for the ball. For those who really love their pet and know that just a look at its photo won’t help much, you can even talk with it using the built in microphone and speaker in the robot – again, remotely!

Well, this far-fetched toy is not a reality but still in conceptual phases (sorry to break your hearts, pet-owners) and I hope the practical model of this gadget become available soon because many pet owners are gonna line up for this thingy, what say? PetCare Robot Concept is Quite Worthy

Science and technology has always been used to solve problems they caused in the first place, but with that in mind, you may have heard about the robotic fish which was developed by a UK team. The Robotic Fish is supposed to detect pollution in the water and transmit it back to researchers via Wi-Fi.

It might have been passed off for a really intelligent way to solve environmental and technological damages done to marine life and sea water, but Jud Turner, the acclaimed artist has reasoned out that the robotic fish might cause a lot of pollution itself as there is no mention of how this machine is powered.

Thus, he feels that using technology to solve problems created by technology is a really bad idea, unless everything is “clean” for sure. He imagined and created his own artistic representation of the Robotic Fish and called it the “Pollutacuda (pollution detecting fish robot, prototype #52-E)“. Pollutacuda looks quite scary, ominous and polluting itself but then being a prototype it would be as clean as “art” always is. We cannot say the same thing about the innocent looking robotic fish by the UK team though.

In fact, Pollutacuda could signify what a “barracuda” technology really is, for just like the barracuda, science and technology consume all things natural and man-made, whether good or bad. It is an amazingly clever and visually striking welded steel and found object assemblage. Jud really knows how to create some of the best artistic prototype, collectibles, sculptures and other works.

Voltron Metallic Gift Set Celebrates 25 Years in Business

Call it an android, a robot or a humanoid, the latest in technology of the robotic world, are definitely weirder than their names. While the Sony QRIO, so called to say Quest for CuRIOsity, originally launched as SDR – sony dream robot and the Honda ASIMO (Advanced step in innovative mobility) have apt names, the Toyota’s humanoid robot are being called their partner robots  for working in areas of personal assistance.

Toyota’s Humanoid Marathoner Robot: Marathon Robot

If you were tired of sending 2D greeting cards with the same old boring mushy messages, why not start sending something cool and three dimensional, such as a 3 Dimensional Robot Greeting Card?

Gagatree has developed a cool new greeting card called the RoboCard which can be assembled, dismantled and packed up in an envelope and sent to your loved ones without any hitch. After the recipient receives it, he or she can again assemble all the parts and create the robot in a matter of few minutes, as shown in the cool video below.

The RoboCard comes with all the pieces, a note card, an assembly guide and of course an attractive envelope that can be used to send it. When you assemble the RoboCard, it stands about 10 inches tall. It comes in three different designs and I am sure you would love to buy all the three. It may seem geekish, but it has an 80s kind of charm to it and it seems less geekish and more pop art.

Almost DIY 3D Robot Greeting Cards

While absolute sentience is perhaps half a decade away, servility in humanoid robots isn’t a first, and no disrespect meant to the creator of this coffee making Manga robot, but riding on folklore may not be enough to transform a ‘been there, seen that’ creation into a head turner. Clockwork, the nicknamed developer of this robot, has scaled down the Kondo KHR-2HV humanoid to build this mean-looking Manga spawn. The humanoid is run by 20 digital KRS-788HV servos along with a GWS-PICO-STD motor. The heart of the robot is a PCB tucked inside its head.

A special mention about the construction has to be made, though. The robot does look compact and for its utility, the concept isn’t a bad idea at all. For humanoid fans, this may perhaps not be the best source of delight. However, Japanese fans of Manga Gadgets will not be disappointed. Every new adaptation of their favorite comic character will certainly add to the popularity, isn’t it?
