Google has recently released a Google Chrome 4 beta of its browser that is gradually becoming increasingly popular, especially among users of various Google services, including one of the most recent called Google Wave.

Google Chrome Beta 4 has some substantial changes to the previous version Chrome 3, such as the use synchronization of bookmarks. Called “My Bookmarks Sync”, the tool is useful for those who want to keep the favorites in more than one PC. The synchronization feature is on the Tools menu of the browser and is called Synchronize My Bookmarks.

By clicking on it, the browser opens a window to the Internet user to enter User name and password from Google. With that done the synchronization is initiated. To access the bookmarks on another PC, just do the same thing.

Google engineers have also developed two new features for the Chrome 4. The first is the Web Works. With this feature, the browser does not crash when processing heavy code or scripts. The second is the local Storage. Thanks to this technology, the Internet user has the ability to access web services even with the computer disconnected from the Internet.

The browser brings improvements in the JavaScript engine and the source code. So, it is faster to process pages and scripts of the Internet as well as compatibility with the HTML 5 standards. One important detail: Google Chrome is a version still in development. Therefore, the Internet user to use the software can, in certain moments, will find bugs in the browser.

Microsoft has just released the Microsoft Security Essentials as a Free Download for users of Windows 7, XP and Vista through their site (link below).

Originally code named Morro, Microsoft announced Microsoft Security Essentials as a FREE replacement for the Windows Live OneCare last year. Since then, competitors feared such a release could shake up the AntiVirus market.

Security Essentials interface has been made very simple for users of all backgrounds, with only four main tabs to choose from. For more experienced users, there is a strong foundation to this software with the ability to customize their choice of protection for their personal needs and specifications.

The Free Microsoft Antivirus protection will cause some problems to other Free Antivirus such as AVG, Avast and more than a few others. This is also due that it is Anti Virus, anti malware, anti spyware, anti trojan and will have no subscription fees, no upgrading fees and more.

Just when we are expecting Windows 7 OS eagerly, we get to hear that a fan-made “Chrome OS” which happens to be a custom built Linux distribution, and is modeled on the official Google Chrome OS which will be released sometime in late 2010.

The fan based “Chrome OS” has Google’s snazzy browser at the center of everything and it was built using SUSE Studio, which is a distribution and virtual appliance builder. Google Chrome predictably puts all the Google apps at the forefront and thus you would have built-in webapp links to Google products such as Google Calendar, Gmail, Google Docs and interestingly, a copy of OpenOffice.

It even comes with a pre-built Flash plug in which actually makes it quite an OS to swear by. Though the official Google Chrome OS would be many times more advanced and better than the fan’s version, it gives a sneak preview about how the official Google OS might turn out to be when it is released next year.

You could use an ISO image and install the Chrome OS or try a virtual image built for VirtualBox or VMWare. The unofficial fanboy Chrome OS is a freeware and can be booted as an ISO on any system or as a virtual image. However, you might want to be a little wary before using the “Chrome OS2 as it might not be all that secure, and might not support much software and leave your system vulnerable to security hijacks.

Fan-Based Unofficial Chrome OS Unveiled

Major Facebook users do not just update their status, upload images or use applications but also find Facebook a convenient and handy way to chat with their closest friends. Unfortunately, Facebook hasn’t yet added chat  emoticons within the platform, but they are enabled and possible for those that truly want to add extra feelings in their chats.

There are two ways to use Facebook Chat Emoticons with your friends. One way is currently possible only if you use the Firefox Internet Browser. If so, you can install the GreaseMonkey Extension, restart Firefox and then install the Facebook Chatbar+ script. This will install the Facebook Emoticons right within the chat (when using Firefox), bringing all your favorite Emoticons to life.

The second way is both for those not interested in any installations or do not use the Firefox browser in order to install. This is simply having the Facebook Chat Emoticons keyboard shortcuts close by or even memorizing them by heart. Most are not new, and if you are a veteran at chat from the old school days, you are probably already familiar with most.

Google has just announced the wonderful news that Push Gmail is now officially available for the iPhone, iPod Touch or your Windows Mobile Device through Google and the use of Google Sync.

In case you want to know when an email arrives and not have to go checking up on new emails and messages, then Gmail Push is a great solution for the many Gmail users of the iPhone, iPod Touch and Windows Mobile operated smartphones.

As Google just mentioned, starting now, Google Sync will work with Gmail as Push Email with the devices mentioned, so you can have your new emails pushed directly to your iPhone (and other cellphones) as soon as they arrive. They also mentioned that Push Gmail can be used alone for the email feature only, or as Google Sync completely for sync of contacts and calendar as well.

If you are an iPhone user, then you must be using iPhone OS 3.0 or above and may go to Google Sync to set up the Push Gmail.

Note: Using Push Gmail normally pushes new mails to your iPhone within seconds, but it usually utilizes more battery power, so regular usage may vary than normally.

I have heard that parenting could be a joy and a headache simultaneously, but thanks to Ubuntu Linux, some tasks could be made a little easier…and funny, similar to the Auto Rocking Baby Crib.

Lior Kaplan has used an Ubuntu script and his computer to make his CD ROM open and close continuously while tied to the baby rocker, in order to rock the baby to sleep. The video is pretty funny and really makes you think whether geeks could have an easier time raising kids.

It is apparent that it isn’t a real baby in the rocker, so you do not need to lose a breathe and fear for the baby’s health and call the social services. In the end, it is a funny video that is innovative, simple and highly beneficial.

It also enables users to manipulate existing open Web APIs and create on demand and user generated mashups.

Ubiquity helps you to multitask and bring mashups in your email. It also allows you to visualize the web your way, and you make Internet seem like a more organized place in a subjective manner. It helps you translate from other languages while emailing and also helps with lookups. The coolest feature Ubiquity must be its ability to help you with tinyurls. Of course, this cannot be the permanent solution to making Internet a more organized and less jointed experience. However, until some other service comes up, Ubiquity seems like a good idea!
