Extreme Sports Pictures and Videos Made with the RUSH Wireless Camera

by Eran Abramson on May 12, 2008 in Tech Products NewsAdd a Comment

rush_camera_1

How many of us have seen the extreme sports videos or photographs and wondered what it felt like to be the actual person in the director’s chair?

When I ride my motorcycle, I sometimes have “close calls”, which a rush is oozing through my body. Of course, I am grateful for surviving a dangerous situation, but I am also disappointed that I wasn’t able to have a copy of it.

What can I say? I would love to have the extreme situations photographed and taped for future archives, inspiration, or reminders.

RUSH is a camera concept that may be attached to any bike helmet or bar on your bike or motorcycle. In addition, by the use of a suction cup, you can also use it while snowboarding or surfing.

This camera can be directed to take pictures in many different angles, so great, timeless action moments are taken. Since it is shockproof and waterproof, it is created for the use within extreme and fun situations. By a wireless trigger on a ring, it can take photos or videos of these memorable moments with just a click of your thumb.

Now you can stay concentrated on the task and sport, without endangering yourself with awkward mechanics to etch the moment within a photograph.

Designed by Martin Ruegg, the RUSH camera device is something I have longed for many times. Since it is meant for the Extreme Sport Fanatic in all of us, no wonder it is called RUSH.

The RUSH site above has additional information, images, action video, and also a “making of section”.

Smart Technology Shoe: Verb for Shoe is Taking Orders

by Eran Abramson on May 6, 2008 in Tech Products NewsAdd a Comment

verb_technology_shoe

The “Smart Shoe” of Verb for Shoe has passed many ideas, product renders, and hype, and is now available to order.

This shoe has an internal computer inside that will automatically adjust the shoe to fit better to the individual (reminds me of Back To The Future 2). In addition, it will sync with your computer and also communicate with other like shoes.

Does this mean that you may sync different files, mp3’s, videos to your shoe and then share them with your basketball buddies while you are doing a slam dunk? I am not certain.

Anyways, it will be available later this year for the hefty price of $700. Is that too pricey? Answer the poll below.

Build a Giant Multi LCD Screen Display

by Tal Siach on May 5, 2008 in Tech Products NewsComments (1)

lcd_screen_3

Do you work with only one screen? Would you like to add another, or two, or 29 to it?

9XMedia provides different sized LCD screens (from 19 to 40 inches) which you may customize and continue to clip together. This is a pick and build creation where you select the screen of your choice, and continually clip another screen to it. Little by little, you are able to build a massive LCD screen for your computer needs, cinematic features, or perhaps just to spend a large amount of money.

Although the package pictured below may be out of my budget, I can easily see how fun it would be to surf the net, watch YouTube videos, view my favorite TV shows, or enjoy the latest movie on it?

New Pet Home is Technologically Luxurious and Pampering

by Eran Abramson on April 30, 2008 in Tech Products NewsAdd a Comment

luxury_pet_houseHow much do you love your cat or dog? Do they deserve more pampering? Would you like your pet to have a lifestyle of the rich and famous?

Some of us own a dog or a cat that we simply cannot get enough of. As we arrive home at night, they are the first thing tended to. As we leave them, we sometimes feel a little sting in our heart and cannot wait to see them again. In fact, my friend loves his dog so much, he brings her to work with him twice a week. He just cannot get enough of his pet.

As a boyfriend or a girlfriend or husband and wife have the partner in mind most times of the day, so are these pet owners; they always look for different ways to grant their pet a nicer, better, and happier life.

There are many different pet gadgets we could get, such as:

Now you can get them a new home.

The Luxury Pet House may look like an over-sized toaster, but it is actually a personal pad for your pet. It can be controlled through your PC for temperature, humidity, infrared, carbon heat, air circulation and some medical treatment (solenoid valve). Furthermore, you may also set different levels of deodorizing, so the pet will always have a scented and fresh place to sleep in.

This new luxurious home for the pet is not for sale yet, but may be seen at the Koreannovation gadget show in Korea on the 14th and 15th of May.

Iron Man takes over your Computer

by Eran Abramson on April 29, 2008 in Tech Products NewsComments (4)

iron_man_pc_1

The movie Iron Man is resurrecting the actual superhero. This PC modification proves that while many sit on the fence about whether to go watch the movie, some true fans are expressing their loyalty in other ways.

iron_man_pc_2

Besides the lights and bulbs that the Iron Man computer sports, the casing, fan, and design is truly inspired by the superhero: the actual face mask is hand crafted to resemble the hero and is UV reactive, it is colored with industrial paint, the front panel is designed based on the Iron Man’s chest, and more cool features and looks.

iron_man_pc_3

This PC mod is not as “clean” as the Pink Floyd the Wall modification, but you do not have to be a fan to enjoy the different look and design. In addition, the video below displays all the different parts including a great sampling soundtrack of Black Sabbath’s famous Iron Man.

Optimus Maximus Keyboard of ArtLebedev is Available

by Eran Abramson on April 25, 2008 in Tech Products NewsAdd a Comment

The Optimus Maximus Keyboard by Artlebedev has been mentioned so many times within the last year, and it is now available to the wide public through Think Geek.

Artlebedev has previously brought us great design concepts such as the giant remote control with individual buttons for each channel number, but this design actually came true.

optimus_maximus_keyboard_1

For those aren’t familiar with it, the Optimus Maximus is a keyboard with an individual screen on each of the 113 separate keys. These same buttons can be customized by color, application, clock animation, music track and album display, CPU usage, and so many more different ways.

As fun (or productive) as it would be to have so many functions available and seen right on your keyboard, there is a hefty price tag to this leisure…$1589.99. Yes, you read it right, it means you may have to miss a mortgage payment, car payment, or break all your children’s piggy banks to afford this gadget.

optimus_maximus_keyboard_2

Remember how people looked at the iPhone early buyers in awe? Would the Optimus Maximus owners be looked at the same way, or because of the cost it would not receive the same respect?

You can find more information, or actually make your purchase right at ThinkGeek Optimus Maximus Product Page.

The video below shows a short presentation of the keyboard and the software included for your customization needs.

The ReacTogon Musical Interface

by Eran Abramson on April 17, 2008 in Tech Products NewsAdd a Comment

The ReacTogon is an interactive musical interface, in which each individual note is represented by a different tile on the board.

With the different colors, cells and notes, the user can create multiple musical combinations. It allows the musician to explore beats, sounds, rhythms and special effects.

Actually, you should just watch the video and get the idea of the freedom this musical instrument (or surface) grants its user.

The Playstation 3 Laptop

by Tal Siach on April 15, 2008 in Tech Products NewsComments (11)

Playstation_3_laptop

The video game console war goes beyond just usability and specifications…it includes beauty as well.

The Playstation 3 has always looked the best in my eyes. Its shine, color and shape look amazing and seem extremely powerful and worthwhile. The major problem I have thought of is because of its size and stature, it is hardly a video game console that may be taken to go.

Playstation_3_laptop_2

Unlike the newest PS2 models which are extremely thin, compact and easily packed, the PS3 is bulky and not easily carried…until a Playstation 3 concept laptop was built by the one and only Ben Heck.

Playstation_3_laptop_3

This PS3 Laptop may still have a hefty weight (16 pounds), but it combines a Playstation 3 hardware with a running laptop.

This modification also includes a 17 inch HD screen, so the console capability and graphics can still be inspiring and shocking. In addition, it also consists of a 60 GB hard drive, built in keyboard, and stereo speakers, so you can have an entire Playstation 3 mobile package.

Playstation_3_laptop_4

This PS3 concept mod will be up for auction, for the long and amazing work put into it. I for one may not be able to afford it, but can still praise its ingenuity.

You can enjoy the hands on video of the Playstation 3 Laptop right below.

The Bioloid Humanoid Robot Kit Provides Customizable Creation

by Eran Abramson on April 12, 2008 in Tech Products NewsComments (5)

Bioloid_Humanoid_1

Robot toys are just amazing; they are fun to build, great to play with, and entertaining to watch.

There are so many different robots available, such as the Man’s Best Robot, the Roboporter to carry your luggage, the Lego Rubix Cube Robot, the RC flying Robot, Crime Fighting Robot and so many more.

Each has its own wonderful features and abilities, but this one comes as a kit, so you may build it one of twelve different ways (see image). Does that mean that it potentially grant 12 times the fun? Only the creator can be the judge of that.

Bioloid_Humanoid_2

The Bioloid Humanoid Robot has 18 servos and a fully customized motion editor, so you may program it to interact well with its environment. In addition, using its IrDA sensor, it may communicate with other like robots, as to avoid obstacles, walk, and perform other actions. Additional sensors allow it to detect different sounds and also measure different distances, granting it some intelligence.

Bioloid_Humanoid_3

This robotic kit is available for $899. You can find additional information, images, or even make a purchase at Think Geek.

An example video of the Bioloid Humanoid robot is found below, and additional examples can be found here.

The BumpTop Brings Your Desktop to Life

by Eran Abramson on April 10, 2008 in Tech Products NewsComments (4)

BumpTop_Desktop

A great video presentation of the BumpTop in action is revealed and introduced.

The BumpTop provide Microsoft Surface like features but with a software driven interface, not requiring you to get a new table (or actual surface) in order to use it.

I wouldn’t attempt to go into the details except simply mentioning that it brings the Desktop to the big screen with touchscreen capabilities.

Files, folders, pictures and more can be freely moved around as easily as you would on a regular, physical desk. These same items may be stacked on top of eachother, placed together in a folder, include comments, and more. You need to watch the videos to enjoy the experience.

Besides these two BumpTop example videos, you can watch their TED presentation and also sign up to become a Beta Tester on their site.

Technology and innovation…you gotta love it.
