We were not expecting this from Google anytime soon, but Google has done a thing they have expertise at - Shock People with the most needed features at the time they are not expecting it, such as the Gmail Voice and Video Chat and Gmail Goggles. We have seen the leaps of the these themes before, but they were not official and moreover you needed to have the Firefox Browser installed (Not to mention the extensions like Greasemonkey and Stylish). Now with the Gmail Themes being officially announced for the Most used Free e-mail service (Gmail, of course), the users of other browsers can have relief. The themes are going to work on all browsers across all countries.

The Gmail themes haven’t been rolled yet to all the Gmail users, but they are working on it and the themes are being seen by users all across the planet quickly and rapidly. The themes are available from the “Setting” link in your Gmail. A new tab reading “Themes” will start appearing as soon as they finish up the launching process.

About themes, you will get to see some of the most vibrant collection of free themes in the Gmail Themes Section. This will allow for the “Everyday a new look” Gmail page for you. The themes have just launched and there are about 30 themes available already. “We wanted to go beyond simple color customization, so out of the 30 odd themes we’re launching today, there’s a shiny theme with chrome styling, another one that turns your inbox into a retro notepad, nature themes that change scenery over time, weather driven themes that can rain on your mailbox, and fun characters to keep you in good company,” mentions Gmail’s blog.

R2-D2, the lovable Robot, and C3PO, the annoying Robot come together, dressed up for Christmas. C3PO gets the Santa Claus costume upgrade, but I think it looks more like the Grinch. If you actually think of it, R2-D2 shouldn’t have antlers on its head and should be Santa. It has better size, optimistic spirit, and simply makes people happy.

This guy Carved a Carrot and plays it like a Calrinet. Holy Moly!

The great thing about this project is that it is a damn carrot. It is not a Robot Clarinet, some tech instruments amended or an actual hack job, but a carrot clarinet. Moreover, it plays just fine. Actual musicians will be divided about the actual performance and appreciation of a carrot made musical instruments.

I don’t have to tell you about a woman’s inclination to soft cuddly toys. It seems to be our birthright to have as many as we can manage to garner and adore them in leisure time. I am wondering if this faceless teddy would please your stuffed-toy-appetite, but this can make up for a nice sound system to tag along with your media player. The Tuned Bear is definitely a refreshing change from the usual set of portable audio units on the retail shelves.

The bear hides in a pair of speakers in its feet and one of the ear displays on/off switch. The volume controls lie at the paws and the system is juiced up by the batteries stationed in its butt area. So except the face-area, every part is occupied with a function. I am assuming that makers have kept room for us to add the emoting features there.

It is a creation of Hirokawa Japan and is currently only on the Japanese shores. You can pick one for almost $39 from Rakuten’s Plywood store. The source doesn’t talk about compatibility with music players, but the image suggests that iPod folks always have an extra edge.
